Once stations are programmed, it is easy to use and you are able to lock the radio on or off. I did not like the headphones, I prefer the ones that fit snug in your ear to keep out enviromental noises. But all and all, very good purchase. Through the years, I never have had an issue with any Sony Walkman.
I was given one for my 80th birthday and it finally gave out after nightly use for over 3 straight years. Dropping it many times did not harm it much. I bought a new one recently as a replacement. It is tough and very useful and the best of its kind.
It required sliding back and forth until sound was obtained and fell out of adjustment when running or manipulating the radio. Both the Sony and the JBuds were replaced promptly by Amazon and I'm happy to report that after giving the radio a test run today I am very pleased with the performance. Ordered this item to use while running on the beach in Amelia Island, FL and at first I found reception to be quite poor. When used in conjunction with the JBuds J3 earphones, the male plug of the phones did not align with the female receptor on the Sony and could not transmit sound when fully inserted. Reception in both FM and AM was excellent and the sound quality is very good. In conjunction with the JBuds this is an excellent running companion.Highly recommended.
Features 5 AM and 10 FM presets. This is the third Sony personal radio I have owned. The reception is outstanding for its class. And the buttons can be locked so as not to change by accident. And the sound quality is excellent. And I have owned several different brands and even more expensive models.
The volume wheel can not be locked. Dollar for dollar it can't be beat. You also get weather broadcast but I have never used it for that. Although it is a bit bulky, it will fit in a pocket no problem. The buttons can be differentiated by feel and location. Battery life is great.
I think this radio is a good choice for people who like to listen to the AM dial inside of buildings.
I baught this radio to listen at night, before I fall asleep. My previous radio was a Sangean, which turned off automatically after 60 minutes, to save battery. I mostly listento AM (Bloomberg Radio). This radio is very hard to operate in the dark.It always seems to remain on, and the battery runs out every day or two. I haven't kept to long enough to check its durability. I got tired of buying new batteries, so I have this one to my dad.I'll be getting another Sangean.
